PLAB 2 is held in Manchester, and several private academies and tutors there run courses for candidates. Courses can help with realistic practice, but they are optional and vary widely in quality and price. This site does not recommend or rank any provider.
Questions to ask before paying
| Question | Why |
|---|---|
| How many hours of practice per person, and in what group size? | Practice time matters more than lectures |
| Do you use simulated patients or other candidates only? | Real interaction improves communication |
| Who gives feedback, and are they qualified to? | Feedback from practising UK clinicians is best |
| What is the full price, including refunds, resits and extras? | Hidden fees are common |
| Are claims about pass rates backed by evidence? | Be cautious of “guaranteed pass” promises |
