How to find a PLAB 2 study partner

Where to look, what to agree and how to run practice sessions that build real OSCE skills.

5 minute read · reviewed 24 October 2026

PLAB 2 cannot be learned alone. You need someone to play the patient, time you and give honest feedback. A good partner is worth more than another video.

Where to look

  • The PLAB 2 category of our community forum.
  • Moderated study groups and online communities.
  • Colleagues in your hospital or city who are also preparing.
  • Candidates who have booked the same sitting period as you, so you reach readiness together.

A 60-minute session

  1. 10 minutes: warm-up on one examination routine from Geeky Medics and Macleod’s.
  2. 30 minutes: three timed stations, one communication, one examination, one emergency using the ABCDE approach.
  3. 15 minutes: feedback using communication frameworks.
  4. 5 minutes: write one thing to fix next time.
