A realistic budget
A first-attempt pass on both exams costs only the GMC fees (about £1,319 at the current rates), but most candidates also pay for an English test, verification, preparation material, and travel to Manchester. Many budget several thousand pounds in total, and more if they need to retake or wait for a job in the UK.
- Ask your employer-to-be whether they reimburse any costs; some do for relocation but rarely for exams.
- Check whether a cheaper UK or overseas English-test date is available before you book.
- Do not pay for “guaranteed pass” courses.
